Introduction |
Entomology division is involved in basic and applied research for the control of insect pest causing damage to human health, agriculture and buildings. |
Research Objectives |
Developing IPM programs against economic insect pests with minimum reliance on insecticides and using alternate environmentally safer control measures for insect pests. These alternatives include biological control, use of pheromones, botanical insecticides, use of insect baits, host plant resistance and use of population modeling in a way that is in conformity with international standards set for safety and quality of agricultural products.
